Privacy Policy

Overview

Fin ("we," "us," or "our") is a financial literacy application designed for children and families. We are committed to protecting the privacy of all users, and we take special care to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and applicable privacy laws.

This Privacy Policy explains what information Fin collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information. Please read it carefully.

Information We Collect

Fin collects minimal information necessary to operate the app and sync your progress across devices:

• Account information: First name, email address, and role (parent or student).
• Learning progress: Completed lessons, XP earned, streaks, and level data.
• Family link data: Parent-child connection codes used to link family accounts.
• Challenge data: Parent-assigned challenges and student completion notes.

We do not collect: location data, contacts, camera or microphone data, advertising identifiers, or any behavioral tracking information. Payment information is handled entirely by Apple and RevenueCat — we never see your payment details.

How We Use Information

Information collected by Fin is used solely to:

• Create and maintain your account across devices
• Display your progress, level, and achievements within the app
• Enable family linking so parents can monitor their child's learning
• Sync your progress if you switch devices or reinstall the app

We do not use your information for advertising, analytics, or any purpose beyond operating the app.

Data Storage and Security

Account and progress data is stored securely in Google Firebase (Firestore), a cloud database service operated by Google LLC. Storing data in the cloud allows your progress to persist if you reinstall the app or switch to a new device. All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and access is restricted by Firebase security rules.

Google Firebase is our only external data processor. We do not use advertising networks, social media trackers, or third-party analytics platforms. Google's privacy policy governs Firebase data handling and is available at policies.google.com/privacy.

Subscription purchases are processed by Apple and managed by RevenueCat. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Note: Unlike a purely on-device app, uninstalling Fin does not automatically delete your account data, as it is stored in the cloud. See "Your Rights" below for how to permanently delete your data.

Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Fin is intended for use by children under the supervision of a parent or guardian. We take our obligations under COPPA seriously.

• Student accounts are created and overseen by a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create accounts independently.
• We collect only the minimum information necessary to operate the app for student users — first name, email, and learning progress.
• Student data is stored in Google Firebase under the same security rules as parent accounts.
• Parents have full visibility and control over their child's account through the parent dashboard.
• Parents may request deletion of their child's account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at wchetzinger11@gmail.com.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected information about a child in a way that violates this policy, please contact us immediately at wchetzinger11@gmail.com.

Third-Party Services

Fin uses the following third-party services:

• Google Firebase (Auth & Firestore): Account creation, authentication, and cloud data storage. Privacy policy
• RevenueCat: Subscription management and purchase verification. Privacy policy
• Apple App Store: Payment processing for subscriptions. Privacy policy

We do not integrate with advertising networks, social media platforms, or analytics services.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data: All your data is visible within the app at all times.
• Reset your progress: The app provides an in-app option to reset all learning progress data.
• Delete your account: To permanently delete your account and all associated data from our servers, contact us at wchetzinger11@gmail.com. We will process the deletion within 5 business days.
• Correct your data: Contact us to correct any inaccurate information associated with your account.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
