After signing up as a parent, go to your Profile tab and tap "Family." You'll see a 6-character link code. Share this code with your child — they enter it during signup or from their Profile tab under "Link to Parent." Once linked, their progress will appear in your Children tab.
After completing a lesson, the course screen should refresh automatically when you navigate back. If the status hasn't updated, try pulling down on the course screen to refresh, or close and reopen the app. Lesson completion is saved instantly to your device.
From your parent dashboard, tap the "+" button to create a challenge. You set the title, description, and XP reward. Your child will see the challenge on their Learn tab and can submit a completion note when done. You then review and approve it from your dashboard, which awards the XP to your child automatically.
All data in Fin is stored locally on your device — nothing is sent to external servers. We do not collect, sell, or share personal information. The app works entirely offline. See our full Privacy Policy for details.
Fin requires a 70% score (7 out of 10 questions correct) to pass a lesson. If your child doesn't pass, they'll see a detailed results screen showing their score, where the 70% threshold sits, and a "Try Again" button. The lesson resets from question 1, but the explanations shown after each question help them learn what they got wrong.
From the student's Profile tab, scroll down to "Reset Progress" and confirm. This will clear all completed lessons, XP, and streak data. This action cannot be undone, so use it carefully. As a parent, you can also uninstall and reinstall the app for a full fresh start.
Fin offers two family plans: Basic (1 parent, 1 child) and Family (2 parents, up to 3 children). Both plans include full access to all lessons, challenges, and features. Choose the plan that fits your household size.
Currently, Fin stores data locally on each device. If your child switches devices, progress will start fresh on the new device. Cloud sync across devices is on our roadmap for a future update. For now, we recommend using one dedicated device per account.
